On the eve of McCain's departure from Congress, I see a lot of articles about McCain and his military and Congressional service.

So what say you? Is McCain an American hero, or otherwise?

I was reading an article form the Huffington Post back in the day when he was running for President, so this was back when the Left as trying to trash McCain because he was running against Obama for President instead of praising him like they do today because he hates Trump.

    https://www.huffingtonpost.com/jeffrey-klein/mccains-secret-questionab_b_107409.html

The Article points out that McCain lived a life of privilege. He was at the bottom 1% of the class in Annapolis, but was inexplicably chosen to be a pilot anyway. Why? Cuz his daddy and grand daddy was a 4 star Admiral. Then he was shot down and captured as a POW. When he was released, there was some talk that he was given preferential treatment to be released over other POW's because of who his daddy was. Then it was rumored that McCain would never become an Admiral, despite his daddies influence, so he decided to become a US Congressman instead.

This article paints McCain as someone who is driven to try and live up to his father's success, someone who is more concerned about wealth and power and personal success than about service to his country.

    Who here agrees?

I see, so was the Huffington Post trolling when they wrote the hit piece against McCain just to help win an election, or is there some truth there, or both?

I don't personally know the guy, but one thing is certain about the cess pool that is Washington DC, and the miscreants 'working' there.
While the majority who are elected to live that life do not arrive with extraordinary wealth, none leave penniless--- if they leave at all.
What happens there is the source of our tyranny: power is our despot king.
For their undying committment to staying in character and keeping folks seriously distracted (in contrast to those whose job it is to distract us via entertainment, these sub-par humans are the serious thespians), money is funneled into their bank accounts via corporate donations and speech fees.

None of these jackasses are vying for ultimate power--- they are 'the workers' to those in power, just as we are the same to the vaunted members of Congress--- instead, they're just elbowing for a place in line.
Under tryanny, the "leaders" will always behave, become idiots.

McCain played his part, read his lines and now turns in his knee-pads in exchange for the robes and identifying name badge of 'elder statesman,' harrumph-harrumph.
Works even better with a great-looking beard.
Bonus points for white, if you can.

My biggest beef with McCain was how he handled the VA scandal in Arizona. Doctors went to him as an advocate about the secret death lists, but he just threw them under the bus and they were fired.

If it were not for an obscure Congressmen in Florida, the scandal would never have seen the light of day, which is what they call Prog heaven.

You are one sick S.O.B. Whodey!!

Regardless of what you think of Senator McCain personally or professionally he joined our military and served our country in active duty, in addition, despite suffering tortures that your sorry ass can't even guess at, he refused to go home until the last of his men also did. Unlike our beloved draft dodging coward commander in chief, and his little war monger suck up John Boulton who ran like little chicken s_it cowards when they were called to serve, John McCain did his duty! I don't always agree with the policies of Senator McCain, but I wouldn't dream of sitting at my computer and trash talking anyone who sacrificed so much of himself for our nation.

Pull your head out of your backside and smell the coffee Whodey! 😠
