Well, it's almost upon us; the most important US election since the last one and before the next one.

Predictions, musings and rambling posts as the results come in are welcome.

    My take:

Dems win the House by gaining 35 seats.
Republicans hold the Senate and gain 2 seats,
Dems get a plus of 6 Governors.

    @no1marauder

Florida becomes a socialist state as they hire pooper scoopers and start free crack houses and increases taxes to 100% of people income.

The loss then stops the GOP from ever winning the White House again, until global warming drowns them all

Maybe someone could try to write a more moronic post than this one, but I doubt they'd succeed.

I was hoping for at least some attempt at rationality even from the right wingers.

Ok, Ok, token negroes and white male terrorists will show up in mass taking both the House and Senate.

    Happy?

    I'd guess:

Dems win the House by gaining 28 seats.

Republicans hold the Senate and gain 1 seat,

Dems get a plus of 7 Governors.

Trump will tell his shrinking voter base the whole election was rigged - Yawn

Robert Mueller, The So. Dist. of NY, the State of NY, the House Democrats will place Trump in multiple worlds of hurt, and there he will remain!

    It’s a difficult call.

Basically, do I want to sacrifise my friends in the US, US financial imperialism and any scraps of international credibility the US has left for guaranteed comedic gold.

Ultimately, I’ll have to say: yes!
Vote trump and keep me laughing!

Here, let me flush the toilet for you... hehehe

Whatever happens it will be the most watched mid-terms ever.
Trump is pretty much despised world-wide. The world is watching!

Dems + 42 in the House.

Senate: Rep + 1 (win ND and MO; lose AZ)

Trump attributes the loss of the House to voter fraud, the loss of AZ to Flake not supporting him enough and calls the razor-thin Hawley win in MO "the fairest and greatest vote count ever."

The GOP hangs on to the House and Senate with an unexpected wave of people walking away from the Dems. Leftists riot. Nate Silver finds a way to justify saying I told you so.

I'm thinking Nevada is a more likely pick up than Arizona and that Donnelly is a probable loss in Indiana. Maybe an upset somewhere else; Michigan polling was way off in 2016 and James seems to have closed some ground on Stabenow. Or Tester loses in Montana. Or O'Rourke surprises Cruz. There's usually one shocker somewhere.

It's a fascinating contest and I have no idea which way it will go. If I was putting money on it then I'd guess some gains for the Democrats but not enough to do real damage to Trumpton.

That's a very pessimistic take from a Dem perspective.

A little spidey sense in me says to watch ND. Heitkamp has a history of confounding expectations.

Nate is one of the few people who's earned the right to be smug.

Anyway, smug is fun to listen to.
