    NYT/CBS Poll: 52% Say Obama Moving America Towards Socialism

    (CNSNews.com) – A New York Times/CBS News poll found that a majority of Americans, 52 percent, think the policies of President Barack Obama are moving the United States toward socialism

    Published April 14, the poll surveyed the political, racial, and social opinions of both the general pubic and self-described members of the tea party movement. It found that while tea party participants are generally more conservative than the broader population, they are also better educated and slightly more successful.

    The poll found that almost the entirety of the tea party movement – 92 percent – shared the views of most Americans that Obama was turning the United States into a socialist country.

    The poll asked respondents specifically whether the president’s policies “are moving the country more toward socialism.” Fifty-two percent answered “toward socialism” while only 38 percent answered “not toward socialism.”

    ignorant. It's the XXI century and still many Americans can't
    comprehend what socialism is. Only neutering can save the
    world from such idiocy.

    Oh, and anybody echoing the poll is also stupid and ignorant.

    How about Mexicans ? Are they stupid and ignorant too?
    It's a shame we can't all be like you, a Mexican lawyer in medical school that is a rocket pilot on the side when not writing best selling novels, or whatever your claim this week is.

    Despite the full-fledged war from many Democrats in Congress to malign (and shut-up) tea party protesters — calling American voters who attend them racists, terrorists, KKK members, and other disgusting names — it isn’t working to turn the country against the grassroots movement. In fact, tea parties and what they stand for are becoming even more popular — and the president less so.

    From Rasmussen Reports, Tea Party 48% Obama 44%:

    On major issues, 48% of voters say that the average Tea Party member is closer to their views than President Barack Obama. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 44% hold the opposite view and believe the president’s views are closer to their own.

    Not surprisingly, Republicans overwhelmingly feel closer to the Tea Party and most Democrats say that their views are more like Obama’s. Among voters not affiliated with either major political party, 50% say they’re closer to the Tea Party while 38% side with the President.

    SO MANY IGNORANT AMERICANS OUT THERE!!!

    I will say one positive thing about the Tea party, although I don't at all think that this is there true motivation, they are indirectly creating focus on a smaller federal policy.

    It is true that our electorate is directed by media adds and wonks, rather than any educational reserach in the main. Sad, but true

    Are you saying welfare can only be achieved through socialized programs? Do you think liberty suffers when the state introduces mandatory programs?

    I wonder, can these people actually explain why america is "moving towards socialism"? Do these people recognize that at least some aspects of socialism have been implemented long before obama came to power?

    Also, what exactly do they want?
