10 Political and Economic Imponderables that Should Drive You Crazy
    .

    1. Only in America could politicians talk about the greed of the rich at a $40,000-a-plate campaign fund raising event.

    2. Only in America could people claim that the government still discriminates against black Americans when we have a black President, a black Attorney General, and a federal workforce that is roughly 18% black when the black population is only 12%.

    3. Only in America could we have had the two people most responsible for our tax code — Timothy Geithner, the head of the Treasury Department and Charles Rangel who once ran the Ways and Means Committee — turn out to be tax cheats who are in favor of higher taxes.

    4. Only in America can we have terrorists kill people in the name of Allah and have the media primarily react by fretting that Muslims might be harmed by the backlash.

    5. Only in America would we make people who want to legally become American citizens wait for years in their home countries and pay tens of thousands of dollars for the privilege while we discuss letting anyone who sneaks into the country illegally just become American citizens.

    6. Only in America could the people who believe in balancing the budget and sticking by the country’s Constitution be thought of as “extremists.”, and ''terrorists".

    7. Only in America could you need to present a driver’s license to cash a check or buy alcohol, but not to vote.

    8. Only in America could people demand the government investigate whether oil companies are gouging the public because the price of gas went up when the return on equity invested in a major U.S. oil company (Marathon Oil) is less than half of what a company that manufactures sports shoes and apparel (Nike) makes.

    9. Only in America could the government collect more tax dollars from the people than any nation in recorded history, still spend a trillion dollars more than it has per year for total spending ($7 million PER MINUTE), and complain that it doesn’t have nearly enough money.

    10. Only in America could the rich people who pay 86% of all income taxes be accused of not paying their “fair share” by people who don’t pay any income taxes at all.

The lefties here should have a field day with this post, debate.. kind of a joke.

whodey wrote a sort of litany rather like this - sometime last year, if I recall correctly - which was pretty funny. Had to be said. One of whodey's finer moments.

Did you write the text in your OP yourself, Hugh Glass?

    #1 is funny but meaningless

#2 is silly because there's still racism in some quarters

    #3 is kind of amusing

#4 is wrong; the media worries more about Islamic terrorism than about backlash

#5 has an element of truth but fails to account for real world circumstances that have to influence policy

#6: I don't get it at all. Who's calling deficit hawks "terrorists"?

#7: There's no fundamental right to cash a check or buy alcohol. No1, are you proud of me?

    #8 is contrived.

#9: Dealing in raw numbers is silly. To compare to other western countries, you need to make per capita comparisons.

#10: The complaint about the "rich" is that the system allows them to earn too much and doesn't take enough back in taxation. I'm not saying it's that simple, but that's the argument, anyway.

Only in America can right-wing loonies bay and howl about religion being under attack, and unjustly suppressed, under the roofs of thousands of tax-exempt churches, on widely broadcast religious as well as (ostensibly) secular television networks, on right-wing radio talk shows that dominate the majority of the airwaves, at open-air rallies attended by dozens of professional and homespun news agencies, and on websites bankrolled by corporations and billionaires.

Over 90% of self-identified Republicans make this "accusation".

That says more about Republicans than it does about reality.

    The Obama Wrecking Ball
    by Dr. Alan Bates, MD.
America will be lucky to survive the next twelve months not to mention another election if King Obama has his way. The lined up behind their Marxist dictator and the evidence for this is everywhere in the media. Sunday on FOX, Senators Jon Kyl (R) and Dick Durbin (D) sparred over extending the expiring payroll tax cut and how to pay for that. The Socialist Democrat plan is merely a political ploy to create class warfare by blocking any fixes for the economy by attaching them to economically destructive tax increases on the most productive Americans (many of whom are job creators) which they know the GOP cannot support. Senator Kyl rightly points out that the payroll tax does not go into general revenue but funds Social Security and that a surtax on ‘The Wealthy’ (as defined by Democrats) would simply fund more spending by Democrats from the general revenue. Lest we forget, socialist Democrats not only have no budget but do not grasp the existence of various segregated government accounts. Even if we support the payroll tax cut (which makes no financial sense), why would one increase taxes on the most productive but already overtaxed Americans during a recession—the job creators? What incentive is left for business owners to hire or invest when they have higher Federal taxes on the horizon, Obamacare, and hundreds of new federal regulations thanks to Obama and the secular Regressive Democrats? Did not the money to fund an extension of the payroll tax cut already get consumed by Obama’s theft from the Treasury to pay off his wealthy financiers such as those at Solyndra?
Socialist Democrats want to create a Marxist ‘nanny state’ by growing Fedzilla even larger when most Americans know quite well that our national survival dictates downsizing the Federal government. Democrats created entitlement programs when FDR (Social Security) and Lyndon Johnson (Medicare) were in office but these pyramid schemes have failed as Fedzillacrats raided the Social Security ‘Trust’ Fund for pet projects leaving it funded only by current tax receipts which in turn have withered with the crash in revenues thanks to their failed social engineering scheme which resulted in a crash in the housing market. They created these massive programs (funny America survived just fine without them prior to FDR) when combined with financial mismanagement have bankrupted America and now threaten our survival as a sovereign nation.

I love this country, there is no anchor in the ass keeping you in one particular state,, you are free to compare the advantages, and use them as you can..

A dripping faucet will fill the sink, if the stopper is in,, people tend to think everything has to be done over night, not so. A good solid plan will work, if you stay with it... and that is where we go wrong,, cut back and save, little things do in fact matter...
