How people can do this to a child is just beyond belief.
As a civilized society, we must protect the youth of America and make such procedures on children, ILLEGAL

I hope she wins many many $millions

Don’t they have gender clinics in the US, with two years of intensive therapy, to help people comprehend who they are and what will make them happy? With gender realignment surgery being the last option on the table?

In the Netherlands that is obligatory. With doctors, GP’s, psychologists, etc. all involved.

How do they determine, for example, if someone with ASD is truly gender dysphoric or so obsessed with not wanting to change (growing breasts, getting a period), that they presume they have to be the opposite gender?

Surely you have checks and balances in the US?

Capitalism? Please. No free market insurance plans are going to pay for this crap unless they're forced to by law or social pressure, and very few people are paying for this sort of thing out of pocket.

the 'parents' should be imprisoned along with the witch doctors

Are you saying that the parents approved the procedure?
Then the doctors are not at fault.

Again your society is sick. You people tolerate the madness, and ridicule people who speak out against it.

I don't believe this can be done without parental consent in America.
Maybe California, but not America

read the article in OP

parents were mislead

@Mott-The-Hoople

That would certainly be reason for them to sue. if it's true
right now, I am not so forgiving of the parents.

Hardly believable.

Surely even in your wild west, gun toting, man choking madhatter culture, you can’t just operate on people because they “feel” something, but that there are guidelines on when’s, but’s, if’s and prior steps to be taken.
