Jesus was not a liberal at all. Jesus preached hard work, avoiding sin and evil, obedience to the commandments of God and generosity. Contrary to what you think Jesus did not dislike the rich. He disliked the stingy rich who did not help the poor.
Jesus blessed the poor in spirit. There is no part of the bible where Jesus blesses those in poverty.
