Trump appears to acknowledge Russian election meddling – and blames Obama
For months, he decried as a "witch hunt" the assessment of multiple U.S. intelligence agencies that blame Russia for meddling in the 2016 election.
On Friday, President Trump appeared to to acknowledge that the country did, in fact, interfere.
In a tweet, he blamed his predecessor, writing that President Obama knew of Russia's efforts before the Nov. 8 election but did nothing to stop them.
President Trump said Tuesday morning he believes former President Obama "is behind" nationwide protests against the new administration's policies, taking an unusual swipe at his predecessor.
He leveled the charge on Fox News a day after former President George W. Bush appeared to criticize Trump for disparaging the media, and said any ties between Trump's team and Russia should be investigated.
Such sniping is highly unusual. Trump previously has praised Obama for helping ease his transition to the White House, and Bush rarely spoke in public after Obama took office in 2009.
Trump said he believes Obama orchestrated the backlash to new immigration and healthcare plans at angry town hall meetings in recent weeks.
"I think that President Obama is behind it because his people are certainly behind it," Trump said. "It's politics. I mean I'm changing things that he's wanted to do."
Russian meddling? Obama.
The country protesting Trump? Obama.

Donald Trump knows he's in deep trouble with this Mueller investigation, he's desperate to try to deflect blame, but Trump, Manafort and the rest of this little circus are running out of shadows to hide in. Trump has never been in this situation before, and he offers little proof to back up his claims. This week he's blaming Obama, next week, who knows? Maybe the street sweepers in Bar Harbor, Maine. 😛

When Obama learned of the election interference, he imposed sanctions against Russia and expelled
35 Russian diplomats. Those sanctions, of course, were lifted by Trump as soon as he had the chance.

It's true that Trump backed down from actually removing sanctions in place after the Flynn meeting with the Russian ambassador discussing the sanctions BEFORE Trump was President became public (Flynn has been indicted for lying to the FBI about this) and in the face of overwhelming Congressional opposition, but he opposed further sanctions and has refused to put into place ones voted in by Congress.http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-russia-sanctions-trump-no-new-congress-law-election-hacking-intervention-putin-kremlin-a8184866.html
