So Mr Trump is now saying he would have run into the school even
unarmed and confronted the shooter. What a brave man! But doesn't
he mean "hobbled into the school"? What with those heel spurs and all.

Give it 6 months and Trump will be saying he was actually there.

And that he actually ran in.

    It's just an alternative fact.

But more than that Trump not only uses the moment to puff out his chest to say how he would bravely have run in, even without a gun and then disparages the officers who were there as being hardly medal of honour recipients.

When will his base finally call BS on all of his fantasies?

Some big personality must have said something of a similar phrasing because this is the second time in an hour I've heard it phrased with the bone spurs reference.

Out of curiosity, which comedian made this glib observation?

All that matter is that we have established that Trump is a hero.

Donald Trump is a draft dodging cowardly chicken s__t!!! Daddy paid doctors to phony up medical records saying he had bone spurs, thereby escaping military service, all the while he was playing college baseball, made varsity, and was set to be drafted into the Yankees farm system. Yeah, some bone spurs! And this cowardly old man is going to charge into a school with a psycho killer and his assault rifle and save the day?? If you believe that one you really are a special kind of stupid!!

Q: Has Donald Trump done ANYTHING physically demanding (besides sex) in the last 40 years? A: NO!

It seems to be established he is now such a hero to conservatives that Mona Charen, a right winger who has worked on their causes for decades, got booed at the Conservative Political Action Conference for daring to criticize him and then had to be escorted out by security as it was feared she would be attacked by your alt-right comrades in arms. https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2018/02/25/donald-trump-conservatism-cpac-2018-217081

    Here version is here: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/02/25/opinion/im-glad-i-got-booed-at-cpac.html

    It starts:

I’ve been a conservative my entire life. I fell hard for William F. Buckley as a teenager and my first job was as editorial assistant at Buckley’s National Review, followed by stints writing speeches for first lady Nancy Reagan and then working for the Gipper himself. Looking toward the 1988 race, Vice President George H.W. Bush wasn’t conservative enough for me. I went to work as a speechwriter for Representative Jack Kemp in 1986.

Strange as it may seem to you, not all men are cowards. At least we now know which side of the fence you are on.

I did not have the opportunity to serve in Iraq or Afghanistan, but I knew many people who did, including some who left and never returned.

I knew three or four people who were there and 'saw it,' including a bronze star recipient.

I can tell you that it is quite common knowledge that the profile of the "hero" can really be anyone. For instance, the fellow I knew who received the Bronze star was incredibly lazy and poor at his job in day to day work. He also had a chip on his shoulder and while he was friendly he could turn on a dime and behave just like an jerk hole.

I know another fellow who got hit by an IED and I served with him while he was recovering from mental health issues in a holding unit. He was incredibly meek and soft spoken, but very heroic by all accounts.

One of the more decorated persons I ever served with was also the largest ass. Another appeared like and strutted about as a peacock and a jerk but in reality was a big softie.

My only point is that perhaps we really do have no idea... and my gut would even tell me that it would be the large, public jerk who would be more likely to be very, very proactive.

We also have some evidence that Trump apparently stopped a mugging in 1991, back when NYC was a terrible place to live:

It is hardly comic genius to think of heel spurs when talking about Trump running is it?

And I can assure you that the observation is not glib.
    I was being sincere.
