The driving force behind Donald Trump's successful political campaign is anger. This anger is primarily directed at Muslims, but also at non American citizens. This bears an uneasy resemblance to a certain angry little man from 1930's Germany who used Jews and non Germans as his scapegoat. Most of Trumps supporters are lower middle class, poorly educated white people who feel marginalized, and left out, as many better paying jobs have gone to better educated foreign workers. In the last 6 months, attacks on Muslim Americans have risen sharply, and the concept of working with other nations to solve problems is becoming far less popular. I sincerely hope America's voters realize the folly of going down this well trodden path and say "no" to this at election time.

No, the driving force is people like you, who mistake media attention for success.

Why shouldn't Americans who hold to traditional American values and the Constitution be angry with this government?

Some Islamist groups have begun referring to Donald Trump in their fund-raising and recruitment drives.

Well... except that in a USAnian election, media attention is success. For decades now, the most televisiogenic candidate has been elected.

Hilary probably offered them a bunch of new weapons to get them to do it.

Spouting the truth is what I look for in a President. We don't have that in Obama and we certainly will not have truth with Hillary Clinton. The Democrats seem to like liars as long as they hear what they want from them.

Trump may exaggerate somewhat, but he is closer to getting to the truth than most of the others.

Televisiogenic is not equivalent to media attention. To succeed in US politics you need both the attention and the image to go with it. Trump only has the former and will not get very many actual votes. Politicians are largely judged on how well they weather scandals. Trump fails on that count.
