So far the results have been a big surprise; exit polls show the Tories might lose their majority though a lot of races were too close to call. I'm following results here and here: https://www.theguardian.com/politics/ng-interactive/2017/jun/08/live-uk-election-results-in-full-2017

    http://blogs.ft.com/westminster/liveblogs/2017-06-08/?mhq5j=e1

One interesting result is that a Sinn Fein candidate won in John Hume's old constituency which is mainly the heavily nationalist city of Derry.

The SNP looks like it is taking a beating.

358 seats called so far and Conservatives are already -5 which means that unless they start picking up seats somewhere and avoid further losses, they will lose their majority. Labor is already up 18 and seems a good bet to recoup all their losses at the very least from 2015.

The Tories have lost their majority; with 9 seats left to be called (8 with Conservative incumbents) they have 311 seats to Labour's 260. Assuming they wind up with 315-320, they would need a coalition partner with ACLE Unionists who hold 10 seats the only real choice.

    Correctamundo.

    May will get the chop.

Still don't understand why so many non-rich people vote tory though: turkeys, Xmas, etc.

So we have a hung parliament, and Theresa May's days are clearly numbered. We have to acknowledge that Jeremy Corbyn has outperformed all expectations, against huge internal and external pressure.

Personally, the result, though it creates huge uncertainty, is not a bad one for those that want strong opposition.

The Tory manifesto was exactly what happens when the Tories think their position is unassailable. It was bleak, negative and in parts almost vindictive. This will all change now.

For that, at least, we should thank Jeremy Corbyn.

Can't help but think what may have been if the PLP had got behind Corbyn from the beginning instead of trying to undermine and oust him. Hilary Benn et al should be hanging their heads in shame this morning.

Hilary Benn should be strung up by his nuts and beaten with a cricket bat, before spirals out of his coffin.

The win-win now is for the Labour party led by Corbyn to uphold their support for the Brexit process and hold the Tories feet to the fire on social policy.

This is what happens when politicians can't stop Muslim terrorist attacks.

She is in charge. The news said she made cuts in security and this is to blame for the attacks.

No the "news" didn't say that, the news reported that her opponents said that.

If Quarl had adequate reading comprehension, he should know that Suzianne called Eladar an 'idiot'.
If Quarl already knows that, then he's apparently just doing more Islamophobic trolling.
