This is the "economic data" used to come to the conclusion in the title:

It's just a search on the fox website, not any kind of actual study. In fact this article is on the list as a reference for itself!

Retail spending rose 3.3% on a year-over-year basis in November and was up 0.6% from the prior month after October's data was revised to a 0.1% monthly decline, according to Census Bureau data released this week. ”

I'm not seeing anything that justifies this title.

“ New economic data reveals Main Street strength as Americans see higher pay, while retail sales rose 3.3% and home purchases increased amid lower mortgage rates”

"The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reports that U.S. employers expanded payrolls by 50,000 jobs last month, falling at the low end of economists’ projections of between 50,000 and 73,000 jobs.
The December jobs report also notes that the U.S. economy saw 76,000 fewer jobs added than previously reported for October and November combined.
These results cap off a year of cooling in the labor market. Employers added about 584,000 jobs in 2025, marking the lowest yearly addition since 2003. In 2024, employment increased by around 2 million."

Not sure if it's always been BLS policy to use "average" rather than "mean" in this report.
@Mott-The-Hoople saidMore Faux news data. 😆

@no1marauder saidI still struggle with the difference sometimes. There's also "median".

@AThousandYoung saidMy bad. I meant to say "median"; "mean' is the same thing as "average".

@AThousandYoung saidMedian gets rid of the distortion very high outliers have on the mean. It's literally the middle value and can give a more accurate idea of what's happening to the average (mean) value because the impact of high end values are ignored.
