The GOP in 2018 knows it's going to get hurt in the midterms, so they're pulling every dirty trick to minimize the damage.

Dozens of black senior citizens in rural Georgia were ordered off a bus bound for the polls after county officials said the event constituted prohibited “political activity.”

Federal courts have found Texas to be in violation of the Voting Rights Act because of a provision of the State's Election Code which imposes limitations on a language-minority voters ability to have an interpreter of their choice to assist them in the voting process.

Native Americans in North Dakota are not being allowed to vote because their tribal dwellings do not have street addresses U.S. District Court Judge Daniel L. Hovland acknowledged that ruling in favor of proof of residence would deter Native American voters, but maintained that proof of residential street address was indispensable to voting.

Voter suppression almost certainly helped Donald Trump win the presidency. Multiple academic studies and court rulings indicate that racially biased election laws, such as voter-ID legislation in places like Wisconsin, favored Republican candidates in 2016. Like most other elections in American history, this one wasn’t a fair fight.

It doesn't reach new heights, it regains the old ones grandfathered into the system.

The GOP and Trump are just making America Great Again. They will bring back segregation, destroy public education, repeal Roe VS Wade and destroy more of our natural resources. America will be Great Again. I can hardly wait. 😢

If the MAGA project proceeds as Phranny wrote, then there will be more resistance this time.

    "Bring back segregation."

The US armed forces were racially segregated until after the Second World War.
I would submit that it would be impracticable to segregate the US armed forces today.
And, if it were attempted, there would be a mutiny by many non-white personnel.

    "Repeal Roe VS Wade."

An underground movement (civil disobedience) will arise, in which many pro-choice
activists and sympathizers will attempt to offer many (though far from all) women
and girls abortions under relatively safe conditions.

    "Destroy public education."

Educational policy tends to be determined more at state and local school board levels.
I would expect some parents who value education to leave the USA (or at least to
send their children abroad) if they believe that their children cannot receive the
educational opportunities that they deserve in the USA.

Suzianne - This might shock you, but I am not your enemy. Though I feel I must apologize deeply for having been born a white male.

I doubt that Mchill's tireless self-pity for himself as a supposedly terribly oppressed
white man in the USA will impress Suzianne.

More voter supression, of the kind I've been railing against since 11-9-16:

I just don't know how you can see all the actual voter suppression going on, including the purging of PoC from the voter rolls, and then sit back and pen an OP (at least two since then) about Blacks just needing to actually go vote. I think it's more that The (White) Man just needs to stay out of their way and let them vote.

Yes, White People won the election of Donald Trump, but less by actually voting for him, and more by preventing PoC voting for his opponent.
