"Why I came out as being poor"
    --Stephanie Land

"Publicly admitting my struggle perpetuated the feeling that I was undeserving
of most things – but anyone could find themselves in a similar situation."

"In working your way off government assistance, the safety net disappears."

"For people in poverty, every day is like that. Yet they are expected to
live this way while being told to work harder. What they need to hear
instead is: “It’s okay to sit down for a second, you deserve some rest.”'

P.S. The usual troll 'thumbs down' within a few seconds of initial posting.

Poor people are unfairly treated in the USA.
The US government should listen with much more respect to the poor's concerns.

    Thank you, Captain Obvious.

However, standing around bitching about it doesn't actully help.

Maybe if you weren't trolling for up-thumbs, you'd be out doing something about it. Maybe.

Chaney3 (disingenuously) asked me: "What is your point here? You should comment on it."
So I felt obliged to give my 'obvious' answer, which Suzianne then hastens to attack.

As usual, the troll Suzianne contributes nothing beyond venting her burning hatred of me.
That makes her feel better, but how could that possibly help poor people in the USA?

It seems that most of the Americans in this thread hate me much more than they would
(dishonestly) profess to care about the plight of the poor in the USA.

it seems to me that to make this happen the poor need to get political power with fair treatment the objective, without this objective being subverted from within or without.

Easier said than done. Money talks loudest in US politics.
How many poor persons are elected to public office?

Has it occurred to Duchess this may have less to do with your message, and more to do with the way you communicate with others here?
