    Is there any easy way to draw graphs using PHP/MySQL?
    Something that looks Excel(ish)...

    Well the standard way is to dynamically affect the width (or height) of an image depending on the size of the return set.

    ergo you simply replace the height = "13px" with height = '"+$nVariable+"px' not sure of the exact syntax as I'm an asp man and it's been awhile since I dinked around with PHP but it's essentially the same thing in either.

    PHP is excellent at creating images server side, but I consider this to be too expensive, and let the client do the work. (Hence, the JS performance graphs you see on this site)

    JpGraph is what you want, if you really wish to make graphics on-the-fly.

    does anyone know if it possible to make animated gifs with php?
    and would it be possible (or will the files be too big?) to make an animated gif with a chessgame (does such a program exist?)?
