    Hello all.

Me and a couple of my college buddies are working on rewriting the old Nintendo game battlechess ( - still in alpha), and I'm writing the AI for it. We're using an alpha-beta tree for the AI.

My question is, is does anyone know any good sites that can help with the code involved in evaluating a board? That is, how to assign how good or bad a board is based on whose turn it is and where the pieces are? I've looked all over to no avail.

    Thanks in advance,

Look into Crafty or something similar. I believe the source is available somewhere.

Or check out it's Russ'&Chris' chessEngine (and GUI).
SOmewhere in the web (Chris' website) you can find his final report with many good and intersting suggestions on evaluating the board and everyting.
Or just google, many tutorials are out there
