It sharpens those neurons in your brain. And stalls the Alzheimer's for years. (~Barbara)
1. A murderer is condemned to death. He has to choose between three rooms. The first is full of raging fires; the second ...[text shortened]... ns; and the third is full of lions that haven't eaten in 3 years. Which room is safest for him?"[/b]
Making the assumption that the lions were alive, I'd go for room 2. You can't talk and discuss objectives with raging fires or hungry lions. 😉

If she could be a photographer, she could also be a - hunter. She shot a rabbit, put the poor thing in the water and hang it (and then cook it). And she took this rabbit stew as a catering for her ill grandmother.
😉

Edit: sharp enough?
Evidently not. (P.S. The lions weren't that hungry.)

"The Answers to All Five Riddles Are Given Below:
1. The third room. Lions that haven't eaten in three years are dead.
That one was easy, right?
2. The woman was a photographer. She shot a picture of her husband,
developed it, and hung it up to dry (shot; held under water; and hung).
3. Charcoal, as it is used in barbecuing."

In this day and age, not a lot of people would think of photography since most photography now is digital so no water, no hanging, etc.
A whole generation of kids growing up today might not even know about film.
They don't even use film in theaters any more, well in the modern ones anyway.

Thanks for your relevant comments. Maybe I'll pass the final results and various comments along to Evelyn's sister in law Barbara. Stay tuned for Riddles 4. and 5. Neither requires knowledge of our parent's and/or grandparent's generation.

Yes, Suzi. 'coal ash is also grey' cinders. The sonhouse generation gap as well as few homes heated by coal would seem
to apply along with the fact that the answer was predetermined by Barb: "3. Charcoal, as it is used in barbecuing."
