Last couple of years at Christmas I’ve noticed that walnuts and almonds make my throat feel itchy and too much creamy produce e.g. ice cream or Baileys (the wife buys it, ok!) make me feel bloated.

I’m now worried that my body is developing allergies in order to force me to maintain an improved diet and that fish ‘n’ chips could be the next weapon of choice 😧

Anyone else notice this creeping malaise?

The body knows what it knows, and wants what it wants.

Edit: I do try to avoid nuts and cheese before bedtime, to avoid gastric reflux.

I told my wife about your post

Ice cream OR Baileys

She went nuts; it is Baileys poured over the ice cream.

Caviar on toast gives me heartburn so I'm cutting down on the toast.
As for the Bailey's ... take a chance.
You really eat caviar?

I tried it once years ago at a work do, didn’t like it at all.

True.
Please also see my edit above about gastric reflux.

(No wonder I can't cross a street in my dreams.)

Ever thought of paying for a gut microbiome test?
Take a look at the ZOE app.

@diver

Just now I asked chatGPT to write a typical conclusive statement about walnuts in a threefold way with the over-familiar cadences that some of us have come to despise, and it completely ignored me!

No idea what that is but I’ll look into it.

I’ll also look into trying some caviar once more.

As a lover of hot (spicy) food stuffs, I’m finding that my innards are starting to tell me to back off a bit. This saddens me, no end.😢
