Some people, including the Labour Government’s Culture Secretary, are very upset at the price of Oasis concert tickets.
For those of you not in the know, Oasis are a British 1990s rock band who disbanded in 2009 after the two founding brother Noel & Liam Gallagher fell out. They have reformed for a mini tour of 17 massive gigs across the UK. Oasis are one of the most popular rock bands in British history so demand for tickets is high and official prices have escalated as demand far outstripped supply with algorithmic “Dynamic Pricing” IT managing the online pricing.
Everyone and their dog (who didn’t get a ticket) seems to be upset by this simple commercial process of supply and demand in an open market and now the government wants to get involved and control it. Of course they do, they are a hardline socialist group led by a Trotskyite ideologue, and god forbid any commercial surfers riding the waves of the free market.
Online dynamic pricing has been in operation for years; it’s the mechanism by which a flight ticket for example will be cheaper when purchased early when the flight is empty and more expensive when the flight is nearly full. The same algorithm works for holidays and hotel room bookings among other sectors. In fact it is the same principle as with house buying, live auctions, rare animal breeds, classic cars etc. In fact everything which is limited supply with a high demand. It is indeed the fundamental principle of a free market.
But oh my god, Oasis are making too much money and people making too much money … must be stopped!

@divegeester
actually I am with you on the core of the factual level.
However the whole load of terms on the extremity is superfluous.
Plus: This is the GF, the post would have fitted nicely (also in tone) to the Debates Forum. And yes I am aware that I would like a nanny here 😉
@Ponderable saidTerms of the extremities? Superfluous?

Would you like me to ask for the OP to be moved?

And no I just added my comment.
@Ponderable saidI think that comment is entirely pertinent and is in fact the central point of the post.

@Drewnogal saidComplaints about queuing, by Brits 😂
Have just heard on the news that there have been complaints by the public about a queue of up to 74,000 to purchase tickets on the Ticketmaster website 😮
@divegeester saidWould you like to see them? Tbh I’ve always thought Liam Gallagher to be the most miserable, ugly looking git in the music industry. Can’t stand their music either 😖

@divegeester saidAre they contemplating a concert in, say Egypt? Wouldn’t it be really “cool” if they organized one at an Oasis in the Sahara dessert?🤔👍😁

@Drewnogal saidAh, I see why he’s so grumpy - Noel has an estimated worth of £53million, while his younger brother Liam, 51, is worth just £6million.

Liam was instructed to give half of his then £11m fortune to his ex-wife Nicole Appleton following their divorce proceedings in 2015.
No wonder he’s eager to make amends with his big brother.
@Great-Big-Stees saidWhat's your favourite Sahara dessert? Mine has dates and sugar syrup.

@divegeester saidThe Labour Party in the UK is based on socialism and has ties with socialist organisations in Europe. People who voted them in must be fully aware of what they believe and what type of government they stand for.

@Drewnogal saidI don’t mind their music, but I wouldn’t go to see them live if it was free.

@Rajk999 saidThis Labour government doesn’t have the same values as the traditional Labour governments of the past, especially not Blair’s. Other than being largely controlled by the unions that is.
