    http://www.sciencealert.com/here-s-why-psychopaths-are-unable-to-love-their-own-children

This lists some mental problems like narcissistic and such.

This list reminds me of a certain US president now in office.

The article is mainly about DTPs rather than just psychopaths/sociopaths.
I believe many think Bill Clinton was a psychopath/sociopath as are many
successful politicians. I don't see loads of damaged children.

I don't see Bill Clinton as a psychopath/sociopath but I could recognize other successful people in politics and management as such. It should be easier, of course, to make a career if you are good at manipulating and show some degree of ruthlessness.

Sociopaths don't play by the rules. (Whether real or imagined)
This can make them innovators. (eg Trump's use of social media)
Or just law-breakers (eg Nixon, Clinton)

There is an opinion that society needs a small proportion of sociopaths to develop.

I thought society needs certain proportion of idealists, brave wise men with vision, unselfish patrons and restless thinkers and enterpreneurs to develop, and the percentage of sociopaths and/or moral deviants in the measure of ca. 5% was unavoidable mistake in every population.
