@Ski-Guide saidDon't think so.
Is it possible to adjust the colour which denotes the previous move?
I don't know if "dark" mode would make a difference?
@Ski-Guide saidAnother option is to go to settings and change your board style. There are a variety of colors and board sizes that you can try, and see if that helps.
I will give it a try, thank you! As someone who is vision impaired every little bit helps
I just tried a few different board styles and I don't think it changes the colors you are asking to change, but it still is worth a try, since the color of the other squares might change to something that is more agreeable for you.
As a last option, you can try sending a feedback to Russ and see if he can add a board settings option to allow changing the 'last moved' square colors.
@Ski-Guide saidIf you are accessing the website with a computer, look at the top right part of the page, and click on your avatar, that includes three horizontal bars. That will take you to the settings page, and also the option to turn on 'dark mode', at the bottom of that page.
Many thanks for all that, I will experiment with different board styles, where do I access dark mode? I cannot seem to find it.
If you are using an app and an apple or android device, someone else will have to help with that.
@Ski-Guide saidI was considering this recently, as I'm currently working on the updated board code.
Is it possible to adjust the colour which denotes the previous move?
Is this something others want? It is possible, but I can only assume it is of little interest as I don't remember this coming up before in over 20 years!
@venda saidNo, "dark mode" really only affects the background. The board changes with your changes but board changes do not affect the background. The board is the same regardless of black or white background.
Don't think so.

Russ, I do appreciate the shading done on the "taken" pieces, as that enables them to be seen regardless of background. Tooltips, however, are dark grey in dark mode and harder to see.
As to the topic's problem, after 20+ years, I'm super used to the colors as is, but enabling this to change for those who need it, why not? (Depending on how difficult it is, I can be blase because I don't have to code it.)
