    A post-counter used to exist but it was removed to discourage spamming contests to see who could make the most posts (not that it appears to have been very effective!)

    That's for sure! But perhaps a recs per post stat would encourage higher quality posts.

    Wishful thinking, but I doubt it would make any difference. I'm really curious to know whether those people who aren't willing to subscribe to play more chess games would subscribe to post in the forums if they couldn't already do so?
