A new acquisition junk wise for my collection of chess trivialities.
Which merrily leads us to this. White to play and mate in three.....
...then onto an RHP player messing up a similar position.
Also thrown in there is why the Russians are so good at endings.
We welcome the joy that was R. Kholmov - M. Muhutdinov USSR 1957
which nicely sets us up for a collection of RHP games all from last year
featuring the same subject matter (a weak back rank) but on a lower scale.
If I told you Black won this then I’m pretty sure you will figure out how. You
may not know the exact sequence of moves but you will guess what happened.
Unlike here. White to play from an Edinburgh League game.
It took just four moves to dramactically change this position.
In the Telboy2 game, wouldn't it be slightly more accurate for black to promote the h-pawn to a knight to prevent Qg3 mate? It's obviously still a white win but takes a few moves longer..

Actually did consider adding a note about a Knight promo.
Thought it was not needed. But yes it was an option.
Is there something wrong with just promo to queen or is there a dinger in that too?
