Your opponent doesn't have to use engine to suggest what move is the best move. The better way is that he throws game in some chess program like Fritz, make his move and turn blunder alert on. So if mister Fritz warns him "that move is bad because it losses something" etc. your opponent just can keep trying until he makes the move mr. Fritz doesn't complain about.
So basically your opponent plays his own game following his own strategic ideas (so you won't find any computer like moves that can result in 3b) but while being tactically perfect. This type of cheating is simply UNDETECTABLE 😲
Can someone please tell me how do we catch that kind of guys ?!

If this does not work, I think we will have to use rats and heated bowls. Additionally we could use a cattle prod.
Any other suggestions?

Superb idea - don't have Fritz at work but suspect it will say;
1.e4 e5 2.Ke2 is OK becuase it does not lose anything.
And it is undetectable - nobody will think a computer came up with 2.Ke2.
Thank you Sir - watch my ratings climb to the frustrations of No1.
Why has noody thought of this before?

If you set it to 0.10 Fritz will decide anything worse than that is a blunder so you will get high match ups anyway whilst if you set it to 1.00 then a move only 0.90 worse than trhe best will not be a blunder. After 2 or 3 of such moves you'd be losing anyway.
Originally posted by Dragon FireNot at all. If the eval was 0.0 before your opponent's last move, but the engine now calculates an obscure brilliancy that gives you +1.0, or +2.0 or +3.0, you are not going to be losing if you miss it, you'd just be back to 0.0

But the blunder check will still kick in.
Originally posted by GatecrasherBut how often will these brillancies occur? I think they will be rare enough that they won't increase the match ups hugely. So the cheat could just play the brillancy anyway.

Sorry. (I really did think you were joking)
In that case yes but no.
Yes it can be done, but don't do it.
You will end up playing planless and reaction chess.
