    What the actual hell?
How in God's name did they do what they did?
Why did it get buried instead of destroyed?
22 acres, 50 times bigger than Stonehenge from over 11,000 years ago... Oriented true north.

    No big deal, right?

It's even more bizarre than that. Further digs have shown the first one was made, and intentionally buried, then a newer one built up the hill where the original was built.
Then THAT was buried deliberately and so forth, with smaller and smaller ones up to one found on top of the hill, a pathetic looking version of the one at the bottom, thousands of years younger but maybe one tenth the size and crude compared to the original.

It seems the original was the model but subsequent generations got a bit worse at being able to reproduce the massiveness of the original and so built smaller and smaller ones but always buried and we may never know why ANY of that happened, not much to date, not much in the way of tools, campfires, not much of anything of the accoutrements of civilization which means the actual town or whatever you would call the place they lived was not nearby which only adds to the mystery of just why such structures were built in the first place.

It looks to me like there was an original genius who designed and supervised the building of the original but of course subsequent generations would not have his expertise and relied on memory passed down from one generation to the next but like the old twice told tale where something is repeated, each time it gets a bit less accurate till the first tale was about say, a donkey carrying wood and ends up being a story about a parakeet with a backpack.....

Gobekli Tepe, Puma Punku, the Pyramids of the world, etc., are examples of something strange that happened in the past.

Puma Punku, for example, has stone structures with laser like cutting in them, when we know our ancestors had no such tools to cut like that.

    Good topic.

Sounds silly, but that one point--- the precision cutting of stone--- is, to me, the most mystifying of all.

Finding true north is no small feat, of course.
But what they did with stones of immense weight is presently unexplainable.

Not really. Do you think people 12000 years ago were somehow dumber than today? There were genius people back then just like today, just a smaller total population so the dude who engineered those monuments was totally genius and clearly figured out how to get a huge piece of stone where they are.

It is not that mysterious now. YOU might thing so but then again you think Earth is 20 miles deep.

    You are 100 percent wrong!!

Today's engineers have NO clue how they did it.

Why are you saying they do?

That is utter BS. They also had no idea how the Easter Islanders got the heavy top hats on til recently but they figured out how they did it and they figured out Tepe also.

Here is a bit about what the stones represented:

Modern day engineers and stone cutters have NO idea how ancient man achieved what they did.

You obviously haven't watched much video of engineers doing exactly that for excavation after excavation.
You figure we can't see them pulling on a rock with ropes and lots of dudes pulling?

One thing they have figured out about the pyramid stones, they proved the ancients used sand wetted down and there are cartouche showing them wetting the sand to make pulling them easier.

The Tepe ones probably didn't think of that so just pulled them along till they got to the hole pre-dug out and slipped them inside one by one.

I don't know why you want to make some kind of huge esoteric mystery like only aliens could have come down to help them as some UFO dudes suggested about the pyramids, which goes, humans back then were way too stupid to have ever come up with the means to move those huge rocks and carve them to such tight tolerances THEREFORE aliens exist, THEREFORE aliens came to Earth to help out those Pharaoh, for thousands of years just so each pharaoh would feel they would have a good afterlife.

    Sure, it could happen.......
