    This work adds to the repertoire of known quantum circuits so it is definitely getting closer to reality.

    I think computers will start to be REALLY intelligent when they get to the level of being able to build quantum computers in parallel with neural networks and classical computers.

    That would be a real breakthrough.

    It is hard to say what benefits quantum computing will bring.

    However, quantum computing is not necessary for intelligence. The human brain probably does not make specific use of quantum effects.

    What we need for better neural networks is:
    - custom circuitry to achieve greater speed.
    - cheaper computing power.
    - better algorithms.
    - investment.
