Rainbow Gravity

I don't come here much, mainly due to lack of math ability, but I read an interesting article the other day (https://www.the-newshub.com/technology/full-spectrum-universe-cern-accident-creates-rainbow) and I'd be fascinated to hear the opinions of all of you boffins on this rainbow gravity idea.

I was going to ask if I'd overslept and it was April. My suspicions were confirmed when I looked at the comment at the bottom. Cern releases this kind of thing as a joke on April 1st every year or so and the stupid hack who wrote the article hadn't done any checking.

The article itself states that CERN had released it as an April fools joke but the idea itself does not originate in that joke. The idea is a genuine proposition predating the CERN joke:

There's all sorts of theories about. I didn't check whether Rainbow gravity existed or not, the experimental results they were claiming were too whacky. As a theory it sounds like it should violate CPT which is tantamount to violating Lorentz invariance. There is no evidence for this whatsoever.

I shouldn't let lack of maths ability deter you from coming here.
I would say the only thing you ought to have to come here is, unlike a certain minority of people that come here, some genuine curiosity (but not necessarily knowledge ) in at least one science subject, which you obviously have.

One thing we learn here is that modern physics, as it stands, is so rife with asinine notions and nonsense, that even the April Fools jokes sound plausible. So don't feel bad. They're just trying to get attention...
