@AverageJoe1 saidProof is a very big word to sum up the report...

Y’all may have discussed. Interesting stuff.
Observations:
* Boat-like structure near the sumit of Arrarat
* traces of Marine life from about 3500 to 5000 years ago.
* The structure is composed of iron oxide/hydroxide.
@Ponderable saidI guess it will be studied for 150 years, we won't be here to know the answer!!! I am impatient!!! Like Marauder!

@AverageJoe1 saidIt has been studied for some decades now (as from the link), so we probably know as much as current technology and financing can yield.

You could lobby for better funding of archeology if you are impatient. And I think there are some foundations give money to "biblical archeology" , that is the branch that only looks at things stated in the Bibel, so the field is comparatively well researched.

Reading that article, seems there would be Something on which to base solid conclusions on. Not one bone from an animal. They last for millennia, after all.
The notion that Noah's Ark rests on Mount Ararat stems from a myth, and a myth it remains to this day. Myths sometimes have some basis in literal truth that may translate to a scientific fact upon further investigation, but I doubt it in this case.
I categorize the notion that the Ark's remains lie atop Mount Ararat along with Sasquatch and UFOs. At least in the case of the latter two one could argue that they move about and know clever ways of hiding, but the Ark is supposedly just sitting up there embedded in rock. If it's been sighted, then its location is known; and if its location is known, then it can be viewed by binoculars and satellites, and helicopters can get a crew up there to test for the presence of wood or petrified wood. If we can land probes on Mars, we can do this. We've had over 150 years to do this. No dice. This is what's called pseudoarchaeology.
What I suspect the truth of the matter to be is that there are rock formations in the mountain that look "ark like." People in ancient times noticed this, and that is what formed the basis of the present-day myth. Having long since lost track of the origins of the myth, people in the present day now claim to have "discovered" Noah's Ark on the basis of rock formations in the mountain that look "ark like." And so things turn full circle, and the myth is renewed.
Here's some more questionable archaeology for those interested:
I'm not going to say it's impossible the ancient Egyptians didn't delve much deeper into the earth beneath their pyramids than we currently are aware. There are some catacombs 40 or 50 meters below ground, and maybe deeper. But two kilometers? I rather doubt it. Anyway, in the video one can learn how a team of researchers managed to "see" pillars with winding staircases going down two kilometers beneath a pyramid by just looking at some blobs of color. Only the first 8 minutes of the video are relevant, and then there's some "product placement."
@Soothfast saidAs much as I'd like to see a 6000 yr old human bone, with maybe a shepherd's crook laying nearby, I agree that it is just great typical human excitement over about anything. How about documentaries showing space travelers spending some time here, replete with carvings of a guy actually wearing a space helmet sitting in a small air vehicle.

@AverageJoe1 saidDon't forget the pyramids were built with the help of aliens who had nothing better to do than help the Pharaoh build a nice tomb because it was obvious humans were WAY to stupid to build anything like that all on their own......

@AverageJoe1 saidThe idea the entire planet was flooded is total BS.

There might even be a boat but it would have to be more like ten MILES long to put in mating pair of every species on earth and there is not much about how a few people inside could feed that many and what would they feed predators, eh?
You think a Cougar would be happy with turnips?
The whole story is total BS.
There was NEVER a world wide flood that is clear.
There have been some duzies for sure, like I think it was about 5 million years ago there was a dirt bridge holding back the ocean from the med but it collapsed and caused a humungus flood that filled the Med we see today but that is about the biggest flood ever.
And THAT was not a world wide flood.
For instance, where would the water have come from for that to happen and where would that water go after it stopped raining all over the planet?
but believe what you want.
@mlb62 saidRegional floods are not an argument that the whole planet was covered with thousands of feet of water.
@sonhouse
you just couldn't help yourself.. just had to take a jab at me... have a nice day
The whole flood story is preposterous.
But what would one expect with a totally manmade religion?
People take that kind of story as totally true because it is in the bible, written four hundred years after the life of Christ.
What happened to the idea of critical thinking?
