Fancy, flashy, moving avatars.

Is there any way that you might change the regulations
for avatars? At the moment the site will only take 50x50
pixels.

I saw some great avatars but very few of them are 50x50.

The majority are 100x100 or 90x90 or various other combinations.

What is the situation for avatars on the new updated site???

According to Kewpie, she can block them by pressing ESC.

I don't know I've never tried it.

I don't think we need animated avatars at all. Lets leave it as it is.

I have a new STATIC avatar, very plain, a .jpg icon file, but one of my opponents told me he can't see it on messages, and someone else said it's not visible on forums. I'd like a second opinion - can folk please tell me what they see?

There is tiny symbol in the middle of the avatar's square space which indicates that the graphic file failed to upload.

Interesting - I can see the graphic myself. Perhaps it's a problem with the beta site. I'll try another GIF image and see what happens.

I see it fine, full size, on the beta site.

I don't have a clue what these others are seeing.

It's fixed, I went back to the old site to do it. Russ has just reminded us that image uploads don't function on the old site if you've done them on the beta site.

There was a time, about a year ago, when I considered subscribing even though I play very, very few games, because I thought it would be neat to have an avatar on the forums at least. But, as you say, the avatars are very, very...........very small, and on a Macbook Pro with a retina display they look like crap. So...that was that.
