Messaging current opponents

Site Ideas

I think it would be very useful if one could message all opponents in current games with a single message rather than have to message each one individually. (emphasis, CURRENT games)

IE - a tab to message all current opponents - that you could click on and send the same message to all.

Yes, I know there is some complicated way of cc'ing people, but a simple 'send to all current opponents' message box would be useful.

That would open the door to mass spamming.

I don't think RHP members would spam their opponents - especially if it was a subscriber-only feature.

@Martin,
There is always someone who could make a new name and do just what Mr. T said.

If someone did spam you then simply block them like you block spam emails and block spam phone calls at home.

Edit

Also, if it was a subscriber-only feature I don't think anyone would go to the cost of keep subscribing and also, remember, this is only for current opponents, so the spammer not only has to pay but also set up a heap of games.

I don't think anyone would go to that much expense and trouble.

It doesn't seem fair to everyone else because you want to be able to mass message. If you belong to a Clan I am certain you can already do that my chess friend.

I believe the other way you are talking about anyone could do it with a new identity, and cause a lot of spam.

Firstly; read my edit above.

Secondly, it has nothing to do with fairness.

Thirdly I give up

End of conversation

It doesn't cost anything to make a new name and go in as a second person. I've never done it myself in 19 years, but I am sure that many have. In fact I know they have!!!

We don't always get everything we want my chess friend. I certainly don't have the last say on that, the Site owner does of course. Mr. T and myself were just saying what issues it could cause is all.

How many times have I said "subscriber-only"

Everyone is a Subscriber you would have to say Paying Subscriber which would then change what you're asking for.

What does being a subscriber mean?

a person, company, etc., that subscribes, as to a publication or concert series. a homeowner, apartment dweller, business, etc., that pays a monthly charge to be connected to a television cable service. a person who promises to donate a sum of money, purchase stock, etc.

Please note the - pays a charge bit.

Regardless, everyone is a Subscriber. You have your Paying Subscribers and non-Paying Subscribers. We use to call them non paying Scum but people took offense to that after many years of people doing it. 😉

"We use to call them non paying Scum but people took offense to that after many years of people doing it. 😉"

LOL - I once referred to them as freeloaders and that wasn't appreciated either.

Anyway; I acknowledge that I could have made things clearer by saying paying subscribers.

Now I must go away and think of another idea you won't like 😁

There is a chance I may like it too. Keep in mind I wasn't the only one that thought it wasn't a good idea because of people spamming. 😉 Always good to come up with new ideas to improve the site in my opinion, and yes I always have one. Just ask anyone!!!

I support the idea as a feature for paying members (as the OP suggested himeslf further down).
