Some people really get some satisfaction from hitting the thumbs down button. They would appreciate no limit then they could spend hours, days giving my posts the thumbs down. It would be interesting to see who hit the button most in a single session, over what period they indulged themselves, see who holds the record.

Has been voted down some time ago.
Ok, so don't make them public, but let people hit the thumbs down button as often as they like, why limit it to one. Let people spend ten minutes hitting the thumbs down button. If they enjoy it, let them get maximum enjoyment.

Heh, write a bot and you could cause havoc with unlimited thumbs. 🙂

I Voted to make the person who thumbed the post named....lost that one!
I guess that is the reason so they don't have to answer for why they thumbed a post up or down.
May have actually got more going on in the forums had it been passed. Made it more lively.

Why not just bring back 'recs' then?
You do remember they were removed for a reason, don't you?
Yes, the forums were more active then, but it was simply more of a hateful popularity contest. Of course, some people never recovered from the loss of being able to be praised constantly by their little sycophantic clics.
And I'm not even going to mention people getting abused in the forums for expressing the "wrong" opinion via their vote.
I think the site has matured past the need for this.

Not many cliques left if any really...I think those days are behind us.
I still love to pull chains to keep things lively.
It was voted down by the majority so I must accept that, all I am saying is it might have made things more lively knowing who thumbed a post up or down is all.

Better to have a thumb up or down does not matter to me.
Just proves someone actually read the post(er maybe not) and took time to hit the thumb. Rather than tumbleweed after the post.
Why are players obsessed to know who thumbed them down but don't seem interested in who thumbed them up?

roma45,
I gave you thumbs up for that one. I believe I know the answer to your question. I don't know about obsessed, but people would like to know who thumbed them down so they can become involved into a conversation as to why they thumbed down the post. You and I both know it would really liven things up!!!
