All comments levelled not at the issue of 'eternal torment', but against the persona of GB, actions for which I want no part. Now of course I have been vociferous in my condemnation of some contributors and their doctrines but its my prerogative who I choose to oppose and who I dont. GB has been nothing but civil to me while others have been nothing but mean spirited so if I repay kindness with kindness and meanness with force, is it not justice? I find the whole pack mentality of ganging up on individuals most distasteful.

I notice you have carefully omitted any mention of the dozens and dozens of original and trying-to-engage on-topic posts I have made on this and other recent threads about afterlife theories. Nobody will be wondering why you make this omission.

After not a single word of substantial on-top comment in 15 pages of this thread, robbie has weighed in with a few trademark ad hominems. Grampy Bobby has been copy pasting walls of text here ~ some of it non-sequitur or unrelated, vast swathes of it re-copied twice or even three times, and none of it backed up by proper efforts to discuss any of it on his part ~ about the meaning of Revelation and he has been extrapolating some truly bizarre and ghastly ideas from it. And robbie has shown no interest.

Indeed I am at a loss to understand what interest the doctrines of Christianity should be to someone who has wholeheartedly rejected them.

Weren't you leaving? For the most part yout contribution seems to have amounted to naught but attacks on GB's persona. If you have produced any scriptural references on the matter then please point me in their direction and ill be happy to discuss them.

My extended family both here and in Europe is Christian. My wife and my children are Christians. Many of the people I work with and work for, stretching back 20 years, are Christian. I have worked for Christian organizations. I have translated and edited Christian writing, magazine articles, and eve a couple of books. I have helped Christian voluntary organizations carry out their work here.

You are fully entitled to be "at a loss to understand" any human environment that is not in fact populated by the little cardboard cut outs you seem to always think in terms of.

Why don't you want to discuss any of Grampy Bobby's "scriptural references on the matter"?

Gee thats bitter, so you have an interest in doctrines you have personally wholeheartedly rejected because your immediate and extended family are Christians. Why dont you ask them?

Bitter? How so? I have been a voluminous poster on this Spirituality Forum stretching back years. There is nothing secret about my interest in what religionists come out with.
