What is some practical Christian advice for people whose nous tells them that, while their religion may provide an admirable and beneficial code for living, Christians' beliefs regarding supernatural things are just not credible?

Use your nous. Apprehend by simple observation that God is a Spirit and is understood and known through our spirit, which is the deeper component of our being.

The "nous", the mind or intellect, which perceives and analyzes information, informs us by the temporal matters of life, which should make it apparent that we are sinners, and that one should seek to escape the fatality of death, and resist the temptation to consign the nous to the feeble mentality of the denial of the supernatural.

One will never know the creator unless he is born again. The nous can know 'about' God, but it is by the spirit,(the deeper part of a man than the nous) that God is 'known'.

Thank you for posting but you seem to have misunderstood what the question was seeking.

"Eternal" truths not only are discerned by evolving materialistically, they are discerned by leaps and bounds in light of the Spirit, similar as evolution at once has punctuated development. The spreading of the Gospels can be seen like that, and the torn veil signaling access for all people.

One can just as easily claim that people, as time goes on, evolve AWAY from the religious ideology that you believe and claim provides "the light of Spirit". That tangent aside, what practical advice do you have ~ as one who believes "the spreading of the Gospels" is a good thing ~ for people who find Christian assertions about supernatural things to be not credible?

For many people God is all they can trust and their only friend they can talk to who can understand. That is very important psychologically, having faith and family relationship. The simple prayers are good though having structured prayer also is needed.

I'd say Eternal is confined by nous faculties, or the nous is up against something that's deliberately causing it to have a paradoxical centre.
