if i were in a room with those who now read my words,
and i sneezed,
how many would have God bless me???
or would you think it merely my body's reaction to an irritant in the nasal cavity???
and smile, and offer me a hanky???
superstition vs science...
i would have to say that i think superstition has the edge here...
my personal anecdote, my mother blesses me every time i sneeze, even if it is the fifth or sixth in row...
HA!!!
heck, i blessed my dog just this afternoon and began to consider the silliness...
i enlisted the help of my olde friend, and enemy, google,
and began searching out the myriad of superstitions associated with a sneeze...
good luck, bad luck, foretelling the future, revealing the truth, omg, so many ways humans scare themselves because the do not understand...
please feel free to rip me a new one, i know you will...

"science is limited and superstitions are worse"
1. true and,
2. i'm not so sure
i was taught when doing science that i do not know it all,
i never will know it all,
i must be able to admit an error,
keep collecting data,
two other things i cannot remember,
and one other thing...
but superstitions allow us to follow a single line in the sand and have no need of deviation...

I don't like saying God bless you when someone sneezes.
What if God doesn't want to bless them? π€·π»βοΈ

It's a silly custom. May as well say "Hail Satan" every time someone farts.
