I am surprised by Dawkins' unwillingness to defend atheism against the top Christian apologist in the world—you'd think someone in his position would jump at the chance.

Granted I gave up on it about half-way through, but unless you're interested in watching a promotional video for William Lane Craig that consists of a lot of REALLY short "sound bites", you should give this one a pass.

Talk about "style over substance"....

Did it occur to you that perhaps there's a REASON that they aren't?

If I were Craig, I'd be embarrassed whether or not he had anything to do with it. I'd be even more embarrassed if he did.

So his reason is: I disagree and think their views are ridiculous so I won't bother debating? Sounds a tad condescending.

Dawkins has invited theologians to answer the arguments against God's existence presented in The God Delusion (e.g., The Ultimate Boeing 747). Dr. Craig has published responses to those arguments in peer reviewed journals and has welcomed the opportunity to point out, in a public forum, exactly how Dawkins' arguments fail—yet Dawkins refuses to either respond to Dr. Craig's critiques or accept an invitation to debate.

Dr. Craig, who has debated almost every prominent atheist besides Dawkins, is definitely not in need of padding his resume. What is clearly at issue here, rather, is Dawkins refusal to defend his arguments.
