    I don't have time, are these sites that refer to it as a racket?

    If so, yes I agree it is called a racket. It is also sometimes called a bat.

    Sometimes = Usually 🙂

    I'd never call a badminton racquet a bat, but I would classify badminton along with other "bat and ball" sports.

    Google Fight = Badminton Racquet beats Badminton Bat by 2 to 1.

    However, 553,000 references to Badminton Bats ought to be enough to justify my use of the word "sometimes"

    Not a chance. A racket has strings.
    The thing you use to hit a shuttlecock has strings - hence badminton racket.

    Anybody who refers to it as a bat is obviously a retard.

    For best solo sport - are we talking to play or to watch? To watch, I'd probably say tennis.

    Google Fight is crap that's why - it's getting results for the phrase badminton.

    Google the full phrase:
    "badminton bat" = 844
    "badminton racket" = 225,000
    "badminton racquet" = 73,600

    Case closed.
