A Sami shaman in Norway has suggested that British Columbia Natives cursed Norway's Olympic athletes. British Columbia Natives have protested Norwegian-owned Atlantic salmon farms in Pacific salmon waters--a potential ecological catastrophe for the west coast's signature food fish. One group of Natives staged a 29-hour hunger strike that ended just prior to the start of the Norway - Canada hockey game. Canada won 8-0. Grand Chief Stewart Phillip of the Union of B.C. Indian Chiefs stated that he was happy the Norwegian fish farming in British Columbia was making news in Norway.

Florence Griffith-Joyner was supposedly cursed by an East German manager in the early 80's...'Flo-Jo' made remarks accusing Soviet Blok athletes of 'using one drug or another to keep the state happy' to maintain their wins. It was never proven that Flo-Jo took steroids but it has been suggested that she was 'forced' to stay ahead of the almost tediously and consistently facially erupted ( signs of steroid use ? ) Soviet pack.
Funnily enough I've never heard this comment, of being cursed, beyond when it was briefly mentioned, by a BBC commentator, in the run up to the Los Angeles Olympics in '84.
