No idea. I think Ravi Shastri also did it?
I can't believe this is the first time it's happened in an ODI, seems like someone should have done it before...

    Some other records:
Boucher hit the fastest 50 in World Cup history - 21 balls.
SA hit the most sixes ever in an ODI innings - 18.
SA made their highest score in a World Cup.
Kallis scored his 1st ton in a World Cup.

All of this in a shortened game, 60 balls less than normal. Even if it is against The Netherlands, it is still impressive.

Lol.. I thought Ravi played Sitar for the Beatles..
I remember I was knee high to a grass hopper in the sixties? when the then Gary Sobers smacked that super six sixes.. it was on telly in black and white.. one ball went out of the ground and down a hill into the town.

    Meanwhile we heard this morning..

NZ has beaten England by six wickets in World Cup match in St Lucia; England 209/7 off 50 overs; NZ 210 off 41 overs.

The Black Caps chased down 210 in 41 overs with Styris unbeaten on 87 and Jacob Oram 63, forming an unbeaten fifth wicket partnership of 138. That is quite recovery given New Zealand was 19 for three after five overs.

Yep, usual story. Whenever Bell gets out early, England get a pathetic total. Why are we so dependant on one player?

Jesus, I didn't watch that game, because I was convinced it's a sure thing!
WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!?

What I love about this, is this is hopefully making Michawl Holding feel like an ass.
I hate basically all commentators - what's the use? "Ooh, that ball travelled to the boundary at a rate of knots" etc. They are redundant in my book. I can see it went fast on my TV, thank you.

Anyway, Holding said before the competition started that these 'minnow' nations shouldn't play because they are just cannon fodder for the top 8.

What World Cup have you been watching Michael?

Well not only michael holding said this ,i too said they shouldnt be there ,so i have egg on my face ,
there will be plenty others out there who thought the same thing too so maybe you shouldnt be so harsh on him
imagine watching a game of cricket with no commentators ,now that would be boring
