    Yes, it's true. It's recognized by the International Olympic Committee. I had this discussion at length with a "physical exertion" proponent as well.

    Athletics is different than Sports by definition. Some have decided Sports means something other than it's definition.

    Also, NY times has great chess puzzles and games in the sports section.
