what does it take to convince wade phillips that we do not need julius jones? marion barber is a back that can bring the cowboys to the superbowl, not julius jones. julius HURTS our offense w/ 3.7 yards a carry, getting a first down isnt easy. on the contrary, w/ marion barber in we can count on him to make short yardage conversions, or to start us off at 2nd and 5 to go. marion averages 5 yards a carry. one could argue that we use julius so that marion doesnt get tired but marion is a physical back who would pound it in there every down w/ full strength. furthermore, we are not a running team! when everyone is healthy, we have terry glenn, t.o., and witten to throw it to and tony romo to give it to them. my proposal is that we run an indianapolis-like offense. maybe even a west coast offense, throw the ball for the majority of the game, hand the ball off occasionally to keep the defense honest and those 6 yard gains become 10 yard gains for barber and lastly, close the game w/ barber.

unless you have a real threat in the ground game, your passing will be effected.
Romo is still not as good as payton is at the colts, i think you need both Jones and Barber to keep the ground game 'true'.
Can barber take 25-30 hand offs week in, week out? I am not sure. i think the rest he gets when Jones comes on, gives him the edge when he sees play time
