The Mets, NYY, Boston, St. Louis and a few others at least try to field legit. World Series contenders. There are many teams like Detroit, San Diego, Seattle, CH White Sox and others that don't even try. The owners spend just enough $$ on talent to call themselves major league teams, all they care about is providing some local entertainment and making a profit, I guess this is OK, but I live in one of those cities that doesn't care, and it doesn't make me want to go to a baseball game at all.

I hope the Giants do better this year. They really couldn't be much worse than last season!! .I like to watch MLB on U.K.tv so I adopted the SF giants a couple of years ago as the team to record and follow(I've no time to watch it all)
I chose the giants for 3 main reasons.
1.I like to watch Bumgarner pitch.
2.I like to watch Buster Posey's tactics to confuse the home plate umpire.
3.I like the scenery at the A.T.& T stadium

Not long back from Jamaica(yeh mon).
Just thought I'd have a quick look on the sports thread to see if there was anything about the sandpaper incident and saw the mlb.
Not looked at much else yet.

There is a bit on sandpaper at the end of the 58 all out thread.

Even radio is condemning the Aussies which to be fair, is a decent stance by him.

I don't understand all of this blubbing. Apart from being totally pathetic, what are they crying about?

Because they cheated? Because they got caught? Neither would seem a justification for grown men to cry like babies.

Grow a pair (or '8'I think is the latest total)!

Yes I saw it when I got round to looking at that thread.
I thought there might have been a new one.
I think they probably felt sorry for themselves hence the tears.
In general though I don't think there's any shame in showing your emotions provided it's genuine.
The "stiff upper lip" thing is just a form of posturing in my opinion i.e "look at me , how brave and manly I am""

I read in my English Saturday paper last week that the Angels have a new wonder player from Japan,
    Shohei Ohtani.
Apparently he can hit as well as being a great pitcher so he must DH when he's not pitching.
I only record the Giants on British TV so I haven't seen him
    Has anyone else?

    You're all insane.

The Reds will take it all, just as soon as they find a new manager..................and team...............and fans.
