    NFL Power Rating that works...

NFL Power Rating that works surprisingly well in making weekly selections of favorites and underdogs against the Las Vegas Casino morning line spreads. Simply look up three team standings stats on the NFL internet site: The sum of the 2009 and 2010 season Points For and Against net; plus the 2009 to 2010 change (+/-) = +410 for the storied New England Patriots (+142 plus +205 = +347 plus +63 = +410) and understandably only -284 for the lowly Buffalo Bills (-68 plus -142 = -210 plus -74 = -284). Directional parity among the thirty two teams is eventually assured by salary cap policy, retirement, attrition, trades, drafts preference, free agency, etc, and guarantees a constantly changing short term scene in the NFL. Low power ratings reflect non-contender teams in the recent past, while high ratings reflect teams likely to peak. There's also a second step which simply involves team "Over and Under Performance" against the spreads within the current season. It provides a tie breaker and factors with 5-10% of the weekly picks.

Wake up, SP. One click and, voila, you're there.

All you need are the 2009 and 2010 Points For/Against Net for each team.

The rest is 'do it in your head' math, which I've already illustrated for you.

Note: The sentence "Simply look up three team standings stats on the NFl internet site" should

have read, "Simply look up the team standings stats on the NFL internet site." Sorry.
