totally agree drop lampard play gerrard + hargreaves in middle, while gerrard surges forward hargreaves can cover cole on left.. maybe beckham/lennon right...... so rooney can play just behind a striker just as you say but who would be the main striker.... crouch?

Why do you think our mighty world class (pah!) England all-stars perform so averagely in international tournaments?
It has bugger all to do with management. You don't tell Ashley Cole "now here's how I want you to play as a left-back".
They should have all the motivation they need but they'd all much rather be playing CL for their respective clubs...

For years now we're usually placed between 10-15th in the FIFA ratings & I think that's about right.
