Hi. I live in Chicago. I've played chess off and on all my life, though never really a serious player. I normally play relatively few games. I'm sure I spend more time on my moves than my opponents generally, so my rating is probably higher than my relative skill.
I'll take timeouts in tournaments or if you routinely abuse the clock (unless I'm way ahead and enjoying myself).
Hypermodern theory is especially interesting to me. I never open with pK4, and very rarely pQ4. So, if you want a game that's a little different, or if you want to storm the middle against someone who will let you have it (for a little while anyhow), then challenge me. I don't care about your ranking unless you are provisional, in which case I may reject you. I prefer at least 3 day timeouts and 7 day time banks or more.
Tournament Entry Rating is calculated by the formula (CurrentRating + HighestRating) / 2. The entry rating will never drop to more than 100 points below your Highest Rating.
Rated stats are updated within 24 hours of the last completed rated game.
