Hello everyone, this looks like an excellent site! I live in the eastern US (Springfield Massachusetts). I have been playing correspondence chess for many, many years. At one time I was a very strong ICCF master, although lack of time and old age have reduced me to a higher (or expert) level player. I prefer opponents of my own ability, although I enjoy playing with anyone so long as they are serious about the game. I do not have any interest in playing a computer, so if you use computer software to analyze your games please look for another opponent. I use my computer to analyze openings, book analysis, and games--but never analyze my active games (until they have been completed). I try to respond as quickly as possible, but at my age certain health problems sometimes interfere with chess. I will never "disappear" and if I am silent for a time it simply means I am having difficulty descending into my "man cave" where my chess set and computer reside.
