    The connection between Christianity and Platonism, as exemplified through the works of St. Augustine, offers a fascinating exploration of how ancient philosophical ideas can be integrated with religious beliefs to enrich both domains.

    Good informative post.
    Plato's teacher Socrates was publicly executed February 15, 399 BC for preaching 'One God'. He charge was: "Corrupting the Youth."
    Also, every Priest in the Catholic Church must have a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy.
    In my opinion, there is much connection between Christianity and philosophy.

    Are you saying that it is possible Jesus returned in 1914?
    No. It clearly has not happened yet. However, His Holy Spirit is among us; and, in many of us.
    [Matthew 24:23-27 NKJV] 23 "Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here [is] the Christ!' or 'There!' do not believe [it]. 24 "For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 "See, I have told you beforehand. 26 "Therefore if they say to you, 'Look, He is in the desert!' do not go out; [or] 'Look, [He is] in the inner rooms!' do not believe [it]. 27 "For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

    [Matthew 24:29-30 NKJV] 29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 "Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory."

    @Ghost-of-a-Duke & others...
    Jesus is extremely clear in His Word that NO-ONE knows the date or time of of the end. Jesus even said He did not know and that only His Father in heaven knows.

    [Mark 13:32-33 NKJV] 32 "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 33 "Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is."

    The so-called “Great Disappointment” of 1844, surrounding William Miller’s errant predictions of Christ’s return, was indeed partly responsible for Charles Taze Russell beginning his own search of the Bible for clues on the timing of the “last days” and Jesus’s return. But 1844 was never part of Watch Tower theology.

    Russell was aware of the calculations behind Miller’s pr ...[text shortened]... lung to the 1914 date, and Rutherford’s theology surrounding it, ever since.

    Before 1914 all drugs were legal in the USA without a prescription. One could walk into a pharmacy and buy anything they wish; Cocaine, Morphine, etc. One could also order any of these drugs thru a Sears catalog and have them delivered to their home.

    In 1914 that all changed and our government outlawed all drugs without a prescription with harsh prison terms for those who broke this law. 1914 was clearly the end for these JWs; along with John J. Smith of the Mormons. No more dope for them.
