Basic question from new player

When you see an open invite game, that says the opponent plays BLACK, does that refer to his opponent (would be me) or does it me and he plays BLACK ?

Please advise, I am a bit confused and want to sort this out before accepting another game.

It means he or she's playing black and you're playing white if you accept that game. 🙂
