and the draw has to be claimed - there is no 'auto-draw' feature.

or there's not enough material to checkmate - even if both sides tried, there could never be a mate (example, King against King and Bishop, or King and Knight)

I had to use the force draw feature in Game 3538099 as after offering a draw to my opponent (who was ranked about 2100 at the time but is now banned) as he did not realise that unless he wanted to blunder and let me win I would only go one place and he would only go one place.

If you have time read up on how Karpov had a repeat the moves position that ended in some controversy.

If you suspect that your game is in a draw position and you want a draw. Then claim a draw. If this doesn't work, offer a draw. If this doesn't work either, send a message to your opponent and ask for a draw. Then hope for the draw.
