The horrible Eliz Warren is a fool, you all should be proud. This is a short entertaining article. Roark Capital owns several sandwich chains...She says it could constitute a Monopoly! I won't bore you with a paraphrase, but allow me to remind you how often I try to make you libs see the beauty of Choice in this country. One can a make a sandwich or go elsewhere. Elizabeth needs to look up the definition of monopoly....maybe research a bit like Sue Anne always does.
And you wonder how we conservatives cannot live side by side with liberals!!!!!!

You forgot to include the article.
Any, the list of chains involved isn't impressive, the Subway acquisition would be huge, but the other fast-food restaurants Roark owns are small potatoes. Scholtskies, McAllisters, Jimmy Johns, lot of people have never heard of them. hardly a monopoly.

Dear Joe - As usual, your silly post leaves out some important information.

1. Elizabeth Warren was requesting an investigation - nothing more.

2. Roark is a very large corporation that has been buying up smaller companies in order to eliminate competition.

3. Roark already owns the sandwich-serving chains Arby's, Jimmy Johns, McAlister's Deli, and Schlotzky's. Adding Subway to that list could create a "sandwich shop monopoly."

This 10-billion-dollar deal is far more than "several" sandwich shops.

As I've said before Joe. If you're going to tell a story here, please tell the WHOLE story. Not just the part you want people to hear.

Correcting your errors and exposing your lies is becoming a full time job. 🤔

No, she was showing her ignorance in efforts to stay on the dem stage.

Where did you learn a FACT that they are 'trying to eliminate competition?"

Adding Subway a drop in the bucket, there are over 50,000 shops in the USA.

I did tell the whole story by linking. Oh, you want me to tell YOUR fabricated story. You sound like a liberal. Immensely so, with your zero business acumen.

I see from JJ post that I did not post the link. Here it is. It should make it real easy for you, 1st grade stuff.

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/restoring-america/fairness-justice/elizabeth-warren-wants-to-break-up-big-sandwich#google_vignette

And why do I get a feeling that that screeeching socialist would like for ALL sandwich shops to charge the same price for all sandwiches, throughout the USA??? She would, you know. You know it, I know it, everyone knows it. Competition does not gell in your pitifil parasitic governmental minds. Not a man in the bunch.
Maybe I like Trump simply because he is a man. Like Reagan, Bush, regular guys. DeSantis, too. The queer guy from CA, Obama, John Kerry in his gas guzzling jet, Buttegieg, the list is lengthy. Neither could shoulder a rifle, nor shoot an enemy. Nor could you for that matter. Every one run to Suzsan's house and we'll hide there!!

Here is a brain-teaser for you. If I am rich and live in Bellville AK, and buy the only two Donut shops, name them AVJOE Donuts, is that a monopoly?
You will answer about like Sonhouse would .

All because we don't allow you to unlawfully rape citizens for their disposable dollar.

Elizabeth Warren is a goddamn hero. Every other politician in Washington let this fly under their radar.

You talk about the beauty of choice? Give us a real choice. Having only the choice of which subsidiary of the same corporation to give our money to, is not choice. The same thing is happening to grocery stores in my area. First Safeway bought up Albertson's, and now Kroeger bought up Safeway. If we thought Greedflation was bad before, we ain't seen nothin' yet.

Yes, you have the market of 'Bellville's donuts' cornered. Although I'm guessing that anyone who is that rich won't find such a market to be, shall we say, 'worth' it.

But the issue is monopoly. You have your threads mixed up. Go to the greed thread.
We are not talking about anything 'unlawful' either. Above-board business by the Roark corporation. They are not NEAR having a monopoly, Warren is a fool. You would defend smelly fish on the side of a road.
Hey, if you see Safeway forming a monopoly, that will be something else. I will march in the street with you, carry one of those poster boards telling people 'what I think!' I'll be leaving my wallet at home though, you know what cultures of our society are generally in those streets. What's mine is theirs, or something like that. That may even be written on one of their posters.

Liberals are soooooo concerned about private monopolies but have much love for government monopolies like ObamaCare.

You want to get down to it,, the government has sole rights to the Registry of Motor Vehicles, and the set high rates

Want another..? Gambling. The state will arrest anyone running a lottery or gaming business, giving the state a monopoly

Those things are rife with quid pro quo and greed when run by the private sector.

I'm sure you'd love to go back to the days of Al Capone.

The business of helping people belongs to the government (shut up, AvJoe), not for-profit corporations.

This goes double for education.

1. awww booohoo Malls are killing mom and pop stores
2. awww boohoo big box stores like walmart are killing the malls
3. awww boohoo online shopping is ruining big box stores

awww boohooo if only we didn't have to listen to sunstroker boohooing alllllll the time.

Edit: If you're looking at opening a mom and pop style sandwich shop or takeaways shop the best place is in the vicinity of a McDs, or Burger King, or Subway. You're in the fast food area, so when a McDs moves into your area it's no different from any other competition and you're going to get more target customer traffic by your shop.

As for your first point: do you think monopolies are good or bad?

As for your last point: kill yourself. Then we don’t need to listen to you whine like the little snowflake you obviously are.
