Yes, it replaces both the tax rebate system and the social services system generally simplifying the whole thing. That is why it often has bipartisan support.

Most calculations point towards the basic income system actually costing less than the current systems we use.

I'm very interested in what the results of the experiment will be.

As government taxes do away with more and more jobs, the government becomes that more important. We must make government bigger to take care of me in this new normal.
