@earl-of-trumps saidPerhaps we should have a tête-à-tête
I thought we were supposed to be using words or phrases that are foreign but quite commonly used by society, and the meaning is known.
Anyway,,, Ménage à trois - French in origin.
Also,,, Goombah - friend or mate. Sicilian in origin.
@earl-of-trumps saidPer the OP they should be nifty.

@very-rusty saidWhen you asked for Happy Birthday in Japanese I posted 'Stop Spamming' in Japanese. Ponderable then gave you the translation. However you thought he was just telling you to 'stop spamming' and you got cross with him.

@the-gravedigger saidJust hoping that you would -- if the occasion ever happened to present itself -- know damn well better than to try any such thing with me for the sake of your own amusement!!!

Er: to keep this on-topic, the Arcturian Spider Crystals have a very similar saying which would be analogous to a literary reference if they had ever gone through a literary phase in their history, and which (per a convention interestingly similar to some of our own here on Earth) they have condensed into a transmission of four cycles, which serves as a reference to the canonical transmission and its variants, similar to some four-character phrases in Zhong Wen or numerical references to jokes in some Russian prisons.
